Unlike other home service marketplaces, Helpful Heroes exclusively uses off-duty firefighters and EMTs to perform various household tasks. Firefighters and EMTs undergo substantial background checks as part of their screening at the station where they work. Much more extensive than a simple online screen that you will get elsewhere. As such, we do not need to do background checks on our firefighters. We do, however, perform employment checks to ensure only verified firefighters and EMTs enter the Helpful Heroes network
